Carol Hornbeck

Carol works with children, adolescents and adults individually and within families and couples.  She is experienced in areas including grief and loss, anxiety and depression, parent-child relationships, sexual abuse and recovery from trauma, and gender identity issues.

Carol has worked for more than 25 years as a consultant and educator to national and regional secular and religious organizations in areas including child advocacy, parenting, diversity awareness, and domestic violence.  She also works with congregations to recognize, respond to, and reduce the risk of child sexual abuse and clergy sexual misconduct.

She has coordinated the parent support group of the New Day for Children of Divorce program for more than 5 years, supporting divorced families as they adjust to the challenges posed by divorce.

“People seek professional counseling not only in response to a crisis or life transition, but increasingly to learn how good relationships can be even better.  My goal is to support children, adolescents and adults in discovering new strengths and enhancing the resources they already have for growth and healing.”

Her credentials and experience include:

  • Bachelor of Arts from Drew University
  • Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary
  • Licensed in Indiana as a Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Specialized training in couples therapy and play therapy

Carol Hornbeck also offers Marriage Preparation Program sessions.
