Same Services-New Name
On September 1st, our counseling center celebrates 21 years of ministry at Second Presbyterian Church. As part of the celebration, the Center for Family Life Ministries has changed its name to CenterPoint Counseling. The Board of the Center hopes the new name will help clarify the work and mission of the Center.
But why CenterPoint? In the early 90’s, the counseling center established a newsletter that was titled CenterPoint. This name was in honor of the CenterPoint of our faith, Jesus Christ. This newsletter is known in the counseling and legal communities and it was a natural step to simply add the word Counseling to establish the new name of CenterPoint Counseling. The name change to Centerpoint Counseling is designed to help both members of Second Church and people in the community fully understand our primary work.
CenterPoint Counseling will continue the original mission to offer both counseling and programs designed to support children and adults in various stages of life, development, and transition. While the counseling ministry is a quiet ministry at Second Church due to the confidential nature of the work, please know that hundreds are helped every year by the capable and professional staff of counselors.
